On Wednesday, May 3, the public is invited to the New Heights Panel Discussion: Building a Home Studio, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at The Centre, located at 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway.

Steven Leavitt
Panelists Jim Jeffery, Steven Leavitt and Thomas Brewer will discuss every musician’s dream: constructing a home recording studio.
Panelists will share all of the basic aspects of setting up a home recording studio, including details on equipment needs and setting budgets for costs associated with building a home studio.
Jim Jeffery received his Master of Fine Arts degree at the California Institute of the Arts. Having worked on many records for major and indie labels, Jeffery understands both sides of the recording studio and regularly works on recording projects for various artists. Labels that he has credit on include Virgin, Columbia and Metal God Records.

Thomas Brewer
Steven Leavitt holds a certificate for Audio Engineering from the Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, CA. His company I Create Sound consults musicians through the recording process. Leavitt has worked in a wide variety of spaces, from world-class recording studios to garages, even recording an entire album in a Venice Beach loft.

Jim Jeffrey
Thomas Brewer is a Los Angeles based re-recording mixer and 23-year veteran in the film, television and gaming industries. Brewer currently mixes theatrical features and movie trailers for studios such as Warner Brothers, Lionsgate Films and HBO.
New Heights is proudly presented by the Santa Clarita City Council and the Santa Clarita Arts Commission. The panel discussion series is designed to assist artists, performers and arts organization representatives in expanding their knowledge and learning valuable tools to increase their ability to be successful.
