The Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce has retained The Musella Group to manage the SCV Chamber of Commerce in 2018 and to begin the employment search for a permanent executive director.
“The Musella Group has a proven record of success in our community and with successfully running the Chamber,” said Troy Hooper, Chamber chairman. “Having John Musella continue to manage the Chamber as we implement our strategic plan is important for continuity. There is no one more qualified to run the Chamber on an interim basis than John.”
The Chamber’s scope of work with The Musella Group includes the basic job duties of an executive director position including general office management, oversight of major events, membership recruitment, accounting, implementation of a new CRM system, and recruitment of a new executive director.
“I and my team have managed much of the Chamber’s functions over the last year,” Musella said. “We provide continuity of management of the Chamber and the experience to implement the Chamber’s strategic plan.”
The agreement with The Musella Group is for a maximum 12 month period, though Hooper and Musella both believe they can have a permanent executive director hired to lead the Chamber during the third quarter of 2018.
“As Chairman, John did an outstanding job in guiding the Chamber toward the success we’ve achieved,” Hooper said. “The Board of Directors and I are excited to see his firm maintain the momentum we started this past year as we move into 2018.”
Musella, president of The Musella Group, served as the SCV Chamber’s Board Chairman in 2017. Musella resigned from the Board of Directors at the conclusion of his chairmanship to assume the Chamber’s management role, eliminating any potential conflicts of interest.
