1906 - Bercaw General Store opens in Surrey (Saugus) [story]
Bercaw Store

The WiSH Education Foundation is proud to announce that Jersey Mike’s has donated $9,564 to support the public school libraries of the William. S. Hart Union High School District, serving nearly 23,000 students in grades 7-12 in the Santa Clarita Valley.

Kyanna Isaacson and Steve Youlios, owners of the newest Jersey Mike’s in the Target shopping center in Valencia, offered free subs with a minimum donation to WiSH during the first several days of the store’s opening.

Members of the community came out in record numbers, with lines out the door that moved very quickly due to their unique layout, which keeps people waiting for minimal time even during their busiest periods of the day.

All of the funds raised during the grand opening will go towards upgrading both hard copy books and technology in all Hart District libraries.

WiSH’s goal is to raise $100,000 for the libraries and community members can assist by going to www.WiSHscv.org to donate any amount.

Donors in excess of $100 will be honored on a plaque dedicated to our libraries. WiSH welcomes and appreciates corporate donors, as well.

WiSH is also proud to be a beneficiary of the SCV Charity Chili Cookoff on March 20 at Wolf Creek Brewery, a wonderful family-friendly event whose funds will also benefit our public libraries.

Providing students with the tools to learn is of the greatest importance to WiSH and we are very grateful to all of our community partners for making a significant difference in public education and their dedication to the foundation. WiSH supports programs and initiatives in the Hart District that are not funded by tax dollars alone.

Please contact Executive Director Amy Daniels at wish@hartdistrict.org.
