logo-lacodistrictattorneyA Newhall man arrested for an attempted kidnapping in a Newhall home was sentenced to three years in state prison as part of a plea deal.

Yensi Aguilar, 22, of Newhall, also has to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, after pleading no contest to attempted lewd acts with a child under 14, officials said.

Aguilar pleaded down to the child molestation charge as part of his negotiated plea from his July arrest. The court views a no contest plea as a guilty plea.

Aguilar, considered “an acquaintance” with the family of the victim, entered the victim’s home without permission, grabbed the victim and threatened the victim — a young girl — with sexual assault, according to Sgt. Brian Hudson of the Special Victims Bureau of the Sheriff’s Department.

The victim’s father, who was also home, “intervened and forced the suspect out of the residence,” Hudson said, “at which time, the suspect brandished a knife at the father.”

Aguilar was arrested later that day and charged with first degree burglary with a person present, attempted forcible lewd act upon a child, assault with a deadly weapon, distributing or showing pornography to a minor, attempted kidnapping for child molestation and attempted kidnapping with a victim under 14 years old.

  10. Our laws need to change!! I believe, (aside from the death penalty) anyone who sexually abuses an innocent child or even attempts to abuse a child should be sentenced to Automatic castration!!! This way, if the sick bastard gets away with it once, he sure as hell won’t get away with it a second time!
