The Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center at Bella Vida will have a Veterans Day Tribute on Friday, Nov. 8, to honor and thank our veterans for the valiant service they gave our country.

The ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a Veterans Walk to the flagpole where the flag will be raised and a wreath set at its base.

Inside the Grand Ballroom, the Vietnam Veterans of America Lost Patrol will present Colors followed by the moving vocals of Veteran Amos Clemmons singing the National Anthem. The ceremony will be followed by a sing-along of patriotic songs.

The event will include photo opportunities with Ladies Pinups for Vets, which is a nonprofit organization that supports hospitalized and deployed veterans, as well as military families. Ladies Pinups for Vets is comprised of volunteers, many of whom are veterans themselves.

Bella Vida Senior Center is located at 27180 Golden Valley Road, Santa Clarita, 91350.

Oct. 28: Rancho Camulos Museum Screens ‘Ramona’

The Rancho Camulos National Historic Landmark Museum is marking the 150th Anniversary of the founding of Ventura County with a special program featuring the first movie made in Ventura County, DW Griffith’s "Ramona" starring Mary Pickford. The film will screen on Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Rancho Camulos Museum. Two screenings are scheduled at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
