Saturday, Oct. 17 will be the 26th Annual Art Classic fine arts competition, presented by the Santa Clarita Artists Association and the County of Los Angeles. The gala event will be held at Hart Hall at William S. Hart Park in Newhall from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Guests will have a Passport to the World of Art for one afternoon to enjoy the exciting art competition and complementary food, beverages and Big Band music from the Ian Vo Jazz Trio. Approximately 100 artists will be displaying their best work and awards will be presented that afternoon in all categories of art.
Pictured here are three of the 130 SCAA club members. The excitement builds as they decide which of their creations they will enter in the competition.
To add to the enjoyment will be a raffle for fine dining in Santa Clarita and a silent auction with many purchase opportunities. In addition, an original artwork will be given to one lucky guest as a door prize drawing.
The mission of the Santa Clarita Artists Association is Making Art Visible. The goal is to promote the visual arts within Santa Clarita Valley and to encourage members and the community to develop their artistic talents. SCAA offers three scholarships every year to promising high school art students. Additional funds raised at this event supports other art enrichment programs.
Special Note: The art exhibit will be open free to the public on Sunday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hart Hall. Tickets for the Gala on Saturday afternoon are $25 each. For more information or to purchase tickets visit www.santaclaritaartists.org or call 661-252-7639.
