Santa Clarita Valley residents reported two separate bear sightings to the SCV Sheriff’s Station Thursday.
The first bear sighting took place at Oak Tree Gun Club, sometime before 8 p.m.
A brown bear visited the Newhall gun range, apparently in search of dinner. Witnesses reported the bear “walked right through the field to the parking lot, picked up a trash can, dumped it over and ate all the trash in it.”
Another bear was later reported at a nearby church about an hour later.
