A man is in a medically induced coma after a vehicle struck him Wednesday night at around 6 p.m., according to Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Department officials.
The incident happened at West Creekside Road and Auto Center Drive after residents reported seeing a person face down on the ground between Big John’s and the Mini Cooper dealership behind Target.
The victim was not in a crosswalk when he was struck and the driver was not cited, said Lt. Hahnlein.
According to Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Department officials, an emergency crew transported the man to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital after the crash.

There was a mini cooper with a totalled front end not too far behind the pedestrian so unless the guy left his car there, he didn’t leave. I drove past right as it happened…

My father is still in induced coma..all the nurses have been great on monitoring his health, he’s still breathing with the help of tube n having blood transfusion to maintain his blood pressure…has quite a few fractures..friends n family been very supportive..can’t thank them enough..

This happens far too often. If I see this happen I’ll chase the suspect and pit them.
The driver did stop completely unaware of what she had hit. So tragic for everyone. We are just praying for a full recovery!
