*****GUARD AGAINST PACKAGE THEFT*****
Thieves are looking for ‘crimes of opportunity’ including stealing packages off porches as the holidays approach. Packages left on doorsteps are an opportunity for people looking to steal. Any unattended package is at risk. We urge our residents to take precautions against theft, including tracking packages and getting them delivered to more secure places. You can have the packages delivered to your work, if your place of employment allows for that, scheduling your deliveries at times when somebody’s going to be home, requiring a signature and certainly making sure your neighbors are kind of keeping an eye out for each other.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding Zone 2 (Castaic or Val Verde) contact Crime Prevention Deputy Brian Rooney at bjrooney@lasd.org.
