Wayne Yamano

Wayne Yamano, vice president of John Burns Real Estate Consulting, has been added to the lineup of speakers for the 2012 Santa Clarita Valley Economic & Real Estate Outlook event.

Presented by the Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation and College of the Canyons, the event will take place Thursday, Feb. 23, from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Valencia. Registration opens at 2 p.m., and a reception hosted by Klassen Corporation will follow the program.

Yamano, who also serves as Director of Research for the nationally-recognized real estate consulting firm, will be sharing his thoughts on the recovery of the residential real estate market, both regionally as well as throughout the country.

In his work with John Burns Real Estate Consulting, Yamano monitors housing markets across the country for retainer clients including many of the largest companies in the real estate and investment industries. He and his team regularly publish cutting-edge research reports, tackling some of the toughest issues in housing, such as quantifying and forecasting shadow inventory and distressed sales.

Yamano’s presentation will be one of three given at the conference, designed to provide attendees with a comprehensive economic analysis and outlook for the coming year. The event primarily focused on the trends and issues associated with Northern Los Angeles County and the surrounding business community.

“We are thrilled that Mr. Yamano will be briefing our conference attendees this year,” said EDC President Jonas Peterson. “With so much speculation out there, College of the Canyons and the EDC really wanted to give Santa Clarita Valley business and community leaders the most accurate information available about the residential real estate market. The research conducted by Wayne and his team at John Burns Real Estate Consulting is among the best in the nation.”

Other presenters scheduled for the 2012 event include economist, Dr. Bill Watkins, Executive Director of California Lutheran University’s Center for Economic Research and Forecasting and Dr. Mark Schniepp, noted California economist and Director of the California Economic Forecast.

“I think the community will really appreciate the effort we have put into planning this year’s Economic and Real Estate Outlook event,” said Dr. Dena Maloney, COC’s vice president of economic development the college’s Canyon Country campus. “Regardless of your industry, the information presented will be extremely valuable to your business.”

Tickets to the 2012 Santa Clarita Valley Economic & Real Estate Outlook are $125 per person, if purchased in advance. Walk in registration on the day of the event is $150. Registration includes admission to the event, a copy of the 2012 Santa Clarita Valley Economic Outlook forecast book (an $85 value), access to a post-conference reception hosted by Klassen Corporation, appetizers and a complimentary beverage.
