The Hart boys and girls swim  teams won the inaugural Santa Clarita Valley Invitational meet at the Aquatics Center, with impressive performances by Nicole Antoniuk and Mitch Johnson.

The Hart girls won six events. Antoniuk won two of them, the 200-yard individual medley and the 500 freestyle. The Hart girls won the meet with 470 points. Saugus was second at 355.

The Hart boys won nine events including three relays. Johnson won the 100 butterfly and the 500 freestyle. He was also on the winning 4×100 freestyle relay team. The Hart boys scored 549 points. Valencia was second with 372.

Saugus freshman Abbey Weitzeil had another impressive meet. She won the 100 freestyle in 50.91 seconds, breaking her own Foothill League record. It was the second time this week she set the Foothill League mark in the 100 freestyle.

In high school track and field, Golden Valley won three events at the Percy Knox Invitational at College of the Canyons.

Jonathan Tolentino won the triple jump in 43 feet, 11 inches. Diontre Harris won the shot put in 42 feet, 1 inch. Deion Weber won the discus in 138 feet, 3 ½ inches.

In high school baseball, Valencia won its first two games of the La Palma Kennedy Tournament. The Vikings shut out Lompoc, 7-0, in the first game. Lucas Foster was 2-for-3 with a double and drove in two runs.

Valencia beat Rocklin, 4-3, in the second game. Trey Williams, Keston Hiura and Brian Mundell hit solo home runs for the Vikings. AJ Balta drove in the go-ahead run with a single in the eighth inning.

In other games in the La Palma Kennedy Tournament, West Ranch beat Rocklin, 3-2. Saugus lost to Santa Barbara, 5-3. Canyon also lost to Santa Barbara, 15-2.

Hart beat Yorba Linda, 10-5, in the Anaheim Lions Tournament.

In college softball, the College of the Canyons won a game and tied in another  in the Ventura Tournament. COC beat Long Beach City College, 11-2, in the first game.

College of the Canyons tied Porterville, 3-3, in the second game.

Adriana Correra hit a home run and drove in three runs against Long Beach. Heidi Hinklin hit two home runs and drove in two runs against Porterville.

The Dodgers lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks, 6-2, in springs training in Arizona. Chad Billingsley did not look sharp, giving up four runs on six hits in three innings.

In hockey, the Kings are home for a game against the Oilers at Staples Center tonight. The Kings have won two of their past three games, but are coming off a 3-2 shootout loss to the Minnesota Wild on Saturday.
