Throughout the rest of 2017, the Santa Clarita Library is participating in OverDrive’s “Digital Dash” contest, and if the library logs 98,603 digital checkouts by December 31, it will be eligible to win additional funds to buy more eBooks and audiobooks for its OverDrive collection.
The library is close to reaching that goal – at 91.1 percent at this writing. Track progress on the Digital Dash Counter.
While the library has offered eBooks, digital audiobooks and streaming video to the community through its partnership with OverDrive for more than six years, library officials know that many people are still surprised to learn that their library card also gives them access to more than 25,000 digital titles.
Expanding the library’s digital collection will cut down on hold times for library customers and allow purchase of more copies of the most popular titles.
The library’s digital books are free for anyone with a valid library card. Users can borrow best-sellers and classic eBooks and digital audiobooks to enjoy on smartphones, tablets, Kindles and other eReaders, MP3 players and computers. There are never late fees with digital titles, as they return automatically at the end of the lending period.
Browse the digital collection at SantaClarita.Overdrive.com, check out an eBook or audiobook today and help the Santa Clarita Library make the “dash” to the finish.
