Santa Clarita Sports Report: June 18, 2015 – Three baseball players from the Santa Clarita Valley were selected to the Louisville Slugger High School All American Team.
Devin Davis from Valencia High earned a spot on the All-American first team. He was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the Major League Baseball draft last week.
Scott Ogrin, a junior at Valencia, was selected to the All-American second team. He hit .509 batting leadoff for Valencia this season.
Austin Russ from Hart was selected to the All-American second team. He hit .365 for Hart in his senior season. Hart won the Foothill League championship and advanced to the title game of the CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs.
Russ will play at USC next season.
In the major leagues, the Dodgers lost to the Texas Rangers, 5-3. Scott Van Slyke hit a two-run home run for the Dodgers in the sixth inning.
But the Dodgers lost to the Rangers for the third time in a row.
The Dodgers and Rangers wrap up their series tonight at Dodger Stadium.
Zack Greinke starts for the Dodgers against Anthony Ranaudo for the Rangers.
First pitch is at 7:10.
