Deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station arrested more than two dozen people during a crime suppression operation and while on patrol between Thursday afternoon and Sunday night, according to the station’s Facebook page.
On Thursday afternoon, deputies responded to a call of suspicious activity on the 14300 block of Davenport Road.
A 49-year-old man was found to be in possession of two AR-15’s and many rounds of ammunition.
He was arrested on narcotics and firearm charges and booked at the SCV Sheriff’s Station.

Meanwhile, the station’s Crime Impact Team along with 30 additional deputies was conducting a 24-hour crime suppression operation throughout the valley, from 6 a.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday.
Deputies arrested 24 people on various charges and identified several gang members during the operation.
On Saturday around 1:30 a.m., deputies patrolling on Lyons Avenue in Newhall noticed a male Hispanic adult who appeared to be possibly looking in the windows of closed businesses.
Due to recent burglaries that have occurred to businesses, deputies pulled over and made contact with the man.
They determined he was under the influence and on active parole for burglary. Deputies arrested Angel Espinal, 20, on narcotics charges and for a parole violation. He was booked at the SCV Sheriff’s Station.
On Sunday morning, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Railroad Avenue in Newhall. An adult male was found to be in possession of metal knuckles, heroin and methamphetamine. The Northridge resident was arrested and booked at the SCV Sheriff’s Station.

I understand the drug charge but how are AR-15’s illegal? Was he a criminal and not allowed to own firearms? Were his AR-15’s not California compliant? AR-15’s are starting to get the reputation just as Pitbulls due to lack of information.
