Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies couldn’t locate a wanted suspect at his home but arrested his roommate on drug charges and an outstanding warrant Tuesday, according to station officials.
Here’s the story from the station’s social media:
“Crime prevention deputies have been targeting ‘Wanted Persons’ residing in their zones, with an eye particularly on those sought for theft-related offenses.
“Saugus Crime Prevention Deputy Stamsek’s search for a wanted suspect took him out of his zone (Tuesday) morning, as he found the individual had moved to another area of SCV.
“Stamsek teamed up with a fellow crime prevention deputy to head to the updated address. Although they were unable to apprehend the person they originally went out looking for due to him not being present, they made contact with ‘a friend’ aka roommate at the location.
“Deputies inquired and found out ‘the friend’ had a $40K warrant and was in possession of narcotics.
“So, long story short, they ended up arresting the friend and taking him to jail.”
