Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s detectives made contact with the man who witnessed the fatal hit-and-run that killed a 15 year old the day after Christmas.
SCV Sheriff’s detectives continue their investigation into a hit-and-run that occurred on December 26, 2016 at approximately 8:40 p.m. A 15-year-old teen was fatally struck in the 27500 block of Sierra Highway, Canyon Country.
Earlier this week, SCV Sheriff’s investigators asked for the public’s assistance in locating a man that was seen at the site of the hit-and-run prior to law enforcement’s arrival but then quickly left. Detectives were interested in finding this individual so that he could be questioned as a witness to the hit-and-run. On Wednesday afternoon, detectives were able to make contact with the man who was at the scene of the hit-and-run. At this time however, there is no new information regarding the incident.
The hit-and-run vehicle is described as a late to early 90’s four-door sedan. It has been described as tan, gold, or dark-colored. The sedan has a lower front end and may have possible damage to the front end or hood.

CORRECTION :
Late to early 90’s Ford Thunderbird XL. Black or Dark Beige/Tan colored. Low extended front hood, with Damage. Last seen continually driving after incident occurred on Sierra Highway headed towards Soledad Canyon. Then another left on Soledad Cyn. Suspect is most likely to live around the local area, but all SCV should keep eyes open for this vehicle. The driver known he had fatally hit & sent a young girl flying 8 feet in the air & still sped off to hide instead of stopping to help the victim or at least calling 911. This could of been anyone’s daughter or sister. The suspect doesn’t deserve to get away with taking a life like that. He deserves what ever he has coming to him one way or another so he or she might as well turn their selfs in before they get caught by others
