1923 - Newhall Chamber of Commerce organizes community cleanup day [story]
cleanup day

Six Flags Magic Mountain, the “Thrill Capital of the World,” and its sister park, Six Flags New England, have placed a friendly wager on the upcoming World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox. Team Magic will be cheering on the six-time world series champions when they take on the American League champions beginning Tuesday night in Boston.

When the Los Angeles Dodgers win the World Series title, Six Flags New England will change its classic wooden roller coaster, Thunderbolt, to Dodgers Thunderbolt for the opening weekend of Holiday in the Park. In addition, the park president, Pete Carmichael, will proudly wear a Dodgers jersey during opening night of Holiday in the Park and the park will fly the Dodgers flag on top of their Scream tower.

If the Dodgers happen to lose, Six Flags Magic Mountain will rename The New Revolution, The Red Sox Revolution for Holiday in the Park opening weekend, and park president, Neal Thurman, will wear a Red Sox jersey during opening night. The park will fly a Red Sox flag at the main gate plaza.

The opening pitch of the World Series is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 5:09 p.m. PST.
