[Scott Wilk] – Assemblyman Cameron Smyth has handed off the keys to his Santa Clarita district office to his successor, Assemblyman-elect Scott Wilk. Wilk will be sworn in to represent the 38th Assembly District at high noon on Monday, Dec. 3.

“I am honored to have served the 38th district over the last 6 years. I worked hard to get things done for our district, and also for our state as a whole. I am so happy that I’m able to hand off the keys to my friend, Scott Wilk,” said Smyth, R-Santa Clarita.

Assemblyman Smyth represents the 38th Assembly District until Monday. He serves as the Chair of the Assembly Local Government committee, and was the first chair of a major policy committee from the minority party in recent history.

“If there was ever an argument against term limits, Cameron is it. His work often transcended party lines, and he was a steadfast leader for our community’s values over the last six years. He has been a close friend and I know I can count on him to advise me when needed,” Wilk remarked.

Scott Wilk was elected to represent the new 38th Assembly District on November 6th after receiving over 57% of the vote. The new district includes northern portions of Los Angeles County and parts of eastern Ventura County, including the communities of Santa Clarita and Simi Valley.

Wilk is a small business owner, and previously worked as Chief of Staff for Assembly members Tom McClintock and Paula Boland. He has served on the Santa Clarita Community College Board of since 2006.
