College of the Canyons won its third straight game in a 5-4 decision vs. Citrus College at Whitten Field on Thursday.
The Lady Cougars (15-10, 7-2) opened up an early 5-1 advantage with runs in each of the first three innings and were able to hold on the rest of the way.
Citrus (13-3, 5-4) clawed back into the game with a lone run in the third before a three-run outburst in the fourth, but could ultimately get no closer.
COC starter Megan Wilson (10-6) picked up her third win in as many days, pitching the whole seven innings while issuing two walks and striking out five. She faced 35 batters and allowed nine hits in the game.
Sierra Boyajian had a big day at the plate, finishing 3-for-3 with a double, a run and a pair of RBIs.
Kaitlyn Post and Camryn Webb both knocked in runs for Canyons. Webb also walked and scored an unearned run in the third inning.
COC swiped three bases and was also able to move runners along with three sacrifices in the game.
Citrus starter Danielle Dominguez (3-6) took the loss after lasting just 1 and 1/3 innings.

Canyons continues its home stretch with a doubleheader vs. San Diego Mesa College on Saturday. Games are scheduled to start at 1 and 3 p.m.
