The City of Santa Clarita, along with The ARTree, will host a Spooktacular Bot Making activity from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Halloween, Saturday, October 31 next to the “Robots” exhibit at the Town Center Art Space, located at 24201 West Valencia Boulevard.
“Robots” is a collection of fabricated steel plate robot sculptures, created by Los Angeles sculptor Bruce Gray.
Gray’s contemporary and abstract modern metal and wood sculptures have been displayed as part of group or solo art exhibitions at many art galleries and museums from Santa Monica to Soho and abroad.
The Los Angeles sculptor is also well known for his kinetic sculptures which include mobiles and stabiles, gravity-defying magnet sculptures and rolling ball sculptures.
Bruce’s metal sculptures are part of more than 1,300 private and corporate art collections worldwide, and have appeared in hundreds of movies, TV shows, music videos and commercials.
The ARTree invites young residents to be inspired by Gray’s work and create their own Bots out of colorful foam rubber. Participants can build giant robots and smaller, compact robots perfect for taking home to enjoy on Halloween.
