Update from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office as of 4:50 p.m.: One motorist was killed, and two were injured in a three-vehicle collision involving a tractor trailer. SR 126 is closed in both directions, and will remain closed for several hours while investgators examine the scene.
One suspect has been arrested on suspicion of Driving Under the Influence.
Motorists should avoid the area entirely. US-101 and SR-118 are alternate routes.
Original post as of 4:06 p.m.: The eastbound and westbound lanes of State Route 126 are closed for an unknown period of time due to a big rig crash that killed one, according to a report from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.
A fatal traffic collision occurred on SR-126 in Fillmore at approximately 2:24 p.m. Thursday, the report states. A big rig and at least two other vehicles are involved, and there is one confirmed fatality.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area as traffic is closed in both directions between Mountain View and the railroad tracks, at the eastern edge of Fillmore City.
Motorists are advised to use SR-118 or US-101 as alternate routes.

There needs to be SERIOUS penalties for DUI… something that changes their life because they change the lives of entire families forever.
And penalties for whoever supplied them the alcohol if there was a suspicion they were already drunk or were going to be driving.
