Ilona Pennay
The Hart School District announced the appointment of Ilona Pennay to the position of Canyon High School Assistant Principal at the Governing Board meeting Jan. 21. She will replace Jason d’Autremont, who was promoted to principal at Canyon effective Dec. 22. Pennay will start as Canyon Assistant Principal on Feb. 2.
Pennay has served as a teacher in the William S. Hart Union High School District for 10 years at both the Jr. High and High School levels. She taught at Sierra Vista Junior High School from 2005-2012 and Golden Valley High School since 2012. During this time Pennay has held a number of leadership roles including Family Resource Program Coordinator, Department Chair, WASC Group Leader, Professional Development Team Leader, Common Core Pilot Teacher and Intervention Coordinator. She also served as Administrative Intern and Summer School Administrator.
Pennay earned a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication with an Emphasis in Organizational Communication and a California Clear Single Subject Teaching Credential in English from California State University, San Luis Obispo. She also earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Management from the University of La Verne in addition to an Administrative Services Credential.
