1945 - Actors Harry & Olive Carey sell Saugus ranch after 29 years; now Tesoro del Valle [story]
Carey Ranch

[KHTS] – A new La Cocina location at the corner of Golden Valley and Sierra Highway has broken ground.

“Customers can expect the same ambience and menu as our other family owned locations,” said Carlos Lopez, owner and operator of La Cocina.

Management for the Mexican restaurant is hoping to open in August or September, said Lopez.

la-cocina-bar-and-grill-553680-620x330It will be the third location here in the Santa Clarita Valley, with one existing location is on Plum Canyon and the other on Seco and Copperhill.

“Santa Clarita’s Best Mexican Restaurant that has the most amazing food and drink,” according to the restaurant’s Facebook page. “The Cadillac Margarita is amazing. The Ceviche is to die for.”

The family owned restaurants have been in the Santa Clarita Valley for 21 years.

The “original” location on Seco and Copperhill opened in 1994, and the second location on Plum opened in 2006, according to Lopez.
