The Master’s College women’s soccer team continues to build its roster for the upcoming season by signing Lacey Lehman, a local product from Saugus High School.

“I chose The Master’s College because I desire to further my education in an environment that is full of Christ-followers and a place where I can cultivate my relationship with Christ and grow stronger in my faith,” commented Lehman. “I’m looking forward to the years ahead because I know that I’m not in control and I am excited to see how God uses me athletically and academically.”

Lehman enters her time as a Lady Mustang with a deep background in soccer forged at Santa Clarita Christian School, Saugus High School, the SCV Magic Soccer Club, and the La Crescenta Valley Soccer Club.

Lehman’s prep soccer career is highlighted by earning All-CIF first-team honors in her sophomore year while competing at Santa Clarita Christian School. Before that, Lehman was pegged as the Cardinals’ Top Newcomer of the Year as a freshman and the team’s Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore.

Looking ahead to her time as a Lady Mustang, Lehman already has her eyes fixed on reaching a number of goals.

“I want to play for God’s glory and just play the game of soccer at a college level,” said Lehman. “I want to grow as a player and take the leap from high school and club to the college level and be able to compete with outstanding players. I also want to develop my game at such a high level.”

When not competing, Lehman looks to major in Kinesiology & Physical Education with an emphasis in physical therapy for a career as a pediatric physical therapist for disabled kids.

Commenting on Lehman’s signing, TMC head coach Curtis Lewis said, “I’m excited about another local girl committing to TMC. Lacey is a mission match student and will work her way into good minutes over her years here as a keeper. With two senior keepers in front of her, she will really have to be stellar to get minutes this year.”

Lewis plans to slot Lehman as a goalkeeper for the Lady Mustangs.

In 2015, the Lady Mustangs went 8-9-2 (5-5 GSAC) and look to build on those marks in 2016 with an experienced roster and a talented signing class.
