TMC Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field Signs Buckelew
The Master’s College women’s cross country and track & field programs have signed Mallory Buckelew, a native of West Hills, California.
“I chose to attend The Master’s College because when I first visited the campus I noticed how kind everyone was and how warm the environment was,” said Buckelew. “I know that this was the place to truly expand my horizons and explore who I am as a person, and what the Lord has planned for my future. I am excited to become the best version of myself at The Master’s College.”
Buckelew enters her time as a Lady Mustang with an impressive athletic resume crafted at El Camino Real Charter High School where she helped lead her teammates to a city championship as a freshman, received MVP honors for track and field as a sophomore, was named Most Improved for varsity cross country as a junior, and served as co-captain for the cross country and track & field teams as a senior.
Notably, Buckelew is no stranger to TMC as her older brother, Richard, currently competes for the school’s cross country and track & field programs.
Looking ahead to her time at TMC, Buckelew has her eyes fixed on achieving a number of goals.
“I look forward to having the opportunity to be part of an amazingly strong team,” said Buckelew. “I am excited for what the future holds and am determined to be the best runner I can be and to learn as much as I can from Coach Schroeder.”
When not competing, Buckelew plans to major in Liberal Studies for a career as an educator.
Commenting on Buckelew’s signings, TMC head coach Zach Schroeder said, “When Mallory came out on her first visit, our women’s team fell in love with her. Mallory gets our team culture and the hard work associated with our sport and embraces it. I am looking forward to seeing Mallory grow in her understanding and love for the Lord through her experience as a Mustang.”
In 2016-17, TMC’s women’s cross-country and track & field programs will return a slew of veterans and welcome a number of new, quality recruits.
Lady Mustang Track & Field Signs Philipp
The Master’s College women’s indoor and outdoor track & field programs have signed Esther Philipp, a native of Yuba City, California.
“The Master’s College’s sound biblical teaching and the encouragement of Christian friends are the main reasons as to why I chose to attend TMC,” said Philipp. “I’m looking forward to drawing closer to God and seeing Him shape me into the woman he wants me to be.”
Philip enters her time at TMC with an impressive resume crafted at The Camptonville Academy.
Based on her outstanding performance in the classroom, Philipp earned honor roll recognition throughout her high school career.
Athletically, Philipp earned the Sacramento Regional Athletic Award, received the Cheerleader Coaches Award, and helped lead her teammates to a Women’s GVC Championship in 2015 and 2016.
Looking ahead to her time as a Lady Mustang, Philipp plans to achieve a number of goals.
“I strive to better myself in every way, shape and form,” said Philipp. “I will push myself as far as I can and leave the rest to God. I look forward to seeing what He does with me this season.”
When not competing, Philipp plans to major in Kinesiology & Physical Education for a career as an athletic trainer.
Commenting on Philipp’s signing, TMC head coach Zach Schroeder said, “Esther is a great addition to our track & field roster as we continue to build our program. I believe Esther’s drive and coachability make her a great fit for our team. I am looking forward to helping her reach the height of her ability the next two years.”
Schroeder plans to have Philipp compete in the 100m, 200m, long jump, and high jump.
