Displaying excellence in the classroom as well as on the hardwood, juniors Jamilee Iddings and Kimmie Wong from The Master’s University have been named 2017-18 GSAC Women’s Basketball Scholar-Athletes.
To qualify, an athlete must be a junior or senior academically and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or greater.
TMU Notes on Iddings
Known as the “bench captain”…as a junior now, Wong knows her role and has perfected the ability to bring belief to her teammates…a three-point threat anytime she steps on the court…brings great experience and impact…it will be difficult to find time in a crowded backcourt, but Kimmie’s impact doesn’t demand gameplay…makes the team better every day with her encouragement and constant energy.
TMU Notes on Wong
Has improved in all aspects of her game…already an outstanding shooter, she has improved her consistency, range, and release…can get her shot off extremely quick with great accuracy…improved ball handling and finishing make her a threat going to the rim, which wasn’t a strength during her first two seasons…a lock-down defender, she will be called on to defend opponents’ wings…improved physicality and strength make her ready to take a big jump this season…will play major minutes on the wing and compete for a starting role.
