The city of Santa Clarita is offering free curbside Christmas tree recycling through Jan. 13, 2012, for all single family and multi-family residents located in the city limits.
Single family and multi-family complex residents should place un-flocked, undecorated, unwrapped Christmas trees at the curb on their regular collection.
Santa Clarita residents must remove all materials such as tinsel, ornaments, lights, and tree stands before placing trees at the curb next to their regular trash bins. All recycled trees are used as soil amendment, compost or bagged for mulch.
Flocked Christmas trees will not picked up if placed curbside but can be dropped off at the Waste Management yard, which is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Before depositing trees, all tree stands, lights, ornaments and other tree decorations must be removed. The Waste Management yard and is located at 25772 Springbrook Road.
