A two-car fatal collision on San Francisquito Canyon Road on Saturday left two dead and one person with major injuries.
At around 11:40 a.m., John Reveles, 50, of Santa Clarita, was driving a 2005 Toyota Tacoma, southbound on San Francisquito Canyon Road in the northbound lane, north of Dry Gulch.
David Kelly, a 75-year-old resident of Green Valley, was driving a 2009 Volkswagen Beetle northbound on San Francisquito Canyon Road in the northbound lane approaching Reveles’s vehicle, according to Newhall California Highway Patrol.
For reasons being investigated by CHP, Reveles traveled over the double yellow lines, subsequently, the front of the Toyota Tacoma collided into the front of the Volkswagen Beetle. As a result of this collision, both Reveles’s passenger – who was a 7-year-old – and Kelly sustained fatal injuries. Reveles sustained major injuries.
Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in this collision.
Anyone with information regarding this collision is encouraged to contact Officer Gallion at the Newhall CHP Office at (661) 294-5540.

Very Important to have your child correctly seated in the back, in the correct car seat for their age/weight- this saves the lives of our most valuable
Will an investigation ever hold Reveles responsible for two homicides due to criminal reckless driving? What about David Kelly who was going home to Green Valley and was killed? Not a word on him? Someone has to speak for the two innocent victims.
The CHP should also be patrolling that road better since many drivers speed and pass over the double yellow lines and even pass on blind curves. It’s a death trap of a road with many lawbreakers and almost no enforcement.
