[KHTS] -The man found dead in a car in Canyon Country Friday evening has been identified.
Miguel Pena, 31, of Canyon Country, was found unresponsive in his car near the intersection of Grandifloras Road and Canyon Rim Place in Canyon Country at about 2:20 p.m. Friday, according to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station officials.
Pena was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
Homicide detectives suspect the death is a suicide by self-asphyxiation, according to officials.
Recent statistics indicate the North Los Angeles County region has the highest rate of calls for attempted and completed suicides in Los Angeles County, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department data.
