The Unitarian Universalists of the Santa Clarita Valley (UUofSCV) announces the grand opening of the Chalice Center on Saturday, Jan. 26, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. located at 22916 Lyons Avenue, Suite 2B. Attendance is free and open to the public and persons of all ages are welcome. Activities for children are planned, refreshments will be provided. Also, donations of canned goods and gently used clothing will be collected for those in need. The opening will be hosted by the UUofSCV to celebrate this important step in reaching out to the community.
“We are delighted to be opening our new Chalice Center, a place for learning, growth and acceptance”, said the Reverend Stefanie Etzbach-Dale, minister of the UUofSCV church. “Our congregation has been a part of Santa Clarita for ten years and has many ties to the community. The Chalice Center will help us provide even more support where it’s needed.”
UUofSCV President Rich Jaffke agreed. “Our first new partnership here is with the Domestic Violence Center of SCV. We proudly support their efforts to help those in need of crisis assistance.”
The Chalice Center is already helping the UUofSCV expand programming to both its members and the general public. “There is a need in each of us to learn about ourselves and our spirituality, and to give back in a meaningful way,” said the Reverend Etzbach-Dale. To that end, we welcome and celebrate diverse lifestyles, perspectives, questions and insights.”.
