A Valencia couple have been charged in connection with an attempted bank robbery and the man is charged with a series of other bank robberies, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced Thursday.
James Lee Hamill (dob 2/4/91) and Samantha Yaworski (dob 8/23/95) each face one felony count of attempted second-degree robbery.
Hamill faces one additional count of second-degree robbery and six counts of second-degree robbery.
Both defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges Thursday and are scheduled back on May 31 in Department 1 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Burbank Branch. Case GA103450 was filed on May 8.
Yaworski and Hamill were arrested for allegedly trying to rob a bank in North Hollywood on May 4, prosecutors said. Hamill is charged with a string of bank robberies between March and May in Burbank, Newhall, Valencia, Pico Rivera and Orange, prosecutors added.
If convicted as charged, Hamill faces more than 11 years in prison and Yaworski faces a three-year sentence.
The case remains under investigation by the Burbank Police Department.
