SACRAMENTO – The latest California Chamber of Commerce legislative scorecard places Senator Scott Wilk, R-Santa Clarita, as one of the strongest voices for business in the state Legislature, his office announced Monday.
“What goes on in Sacramento has a tremendous impact – good and bad – on our business sector,” Wilk said in a statement. “Promoting policies that encourage investment in our state or stopping the ones that don’t is how we ensure mortgage paying jobs stay in California.”
CalChamber is the largest, broad-based business advocacy group in California representing firms of all sizes and companies from almost every industry within the state. More than one-quarter of California’s private sector jobs are from the 14,000 California businesses represented by the Chamber.
The Chamber tracks about 3,000 legislative proposals each year on behalf of California employers, fighting bills that negatively affect business and promoting proposals that stimulate California’s economy and create jobs.
At the conclusion of each legislative year, the organization issues a scorecard identifying key legislation and the action taken on it by both the Senate and the Assembly.
Since his election to the Assembly in 2012, Senator Wilk has consistently ranked among the Chamber’s top scoring legislators.
Senator Wilk represents the 21st Senate District which includes the Antelope, Santa Clarita and Victor Valleys. For more information, visit his website.
