A fight outside of a Saugus bar led to a stabbing outside Mabel’s Roadhouse on Saturday night, but no one was seriously hurt and a suspect was arrested, Sheriff’s Station officials said.
“Deputies responded to the 26300 block of Bouquet Canyon Road in Saugus at 11:15 p.m. to a report of a fight in the parking lot,” said Deputy Josh Dubin of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Michael Ketchum, 35, of Santa Clarita, was book on an assault with a deadly weapon charge. Two men began arguing in the parking lot when the fight escalated, turning violent, and Ketchum allegedly pulled out a knife, according to Sheriff’s Station records.
After the fight turned physical, friends of the victim and suspect became involved.
A person who saw the fight intervened and grabbed Ketchum’s arm, which was holding a knife that grazed the forearm of the victim.
After a person in the crowd screamed “knife,” the fight broke up and Ketchum fled the scene.
He was arrested nearby after he was tracked down by deputies, according to Sheriff’s Station reports.
The victim was treated at the scene and then transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital.
Ketchum was booked on one count and held in lieu of a $30,000 bail Saturday.
Ketchum paid bail Sunday afternoon and was released.
