The 44th annual Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley Benefit Auction will have a new location and new look this year, said Ronda Chobanian, development director of the Boys & Girls Club of SCV Foundation.
The auction, co-chaired by Mike and Ann-Marie Bjorkman, will be held Friday, June 5 in the Grand Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Valencia.
“We feel so privileged to be able to co-chair this important event for the Boys & Girls Club of SCV,” said Ann-Marie Bjorkman. “We are over the moon that we were asked to chair the Benefit Auction.”
Chobanian said the auction, which traditionally has been held in large empty warehouses, will make the move to the Hyatt for the comfort of the event guests and to maximize the dollars raised by the fundraiser.
“While we loved our events in warehouses, which were wonderful, we want to raise as much money as possible to provide services for the kids at the Boys & Girls Club of SCV,” said Chobanian.

The theme for this year’s event is “Prom Revisited.”
“We are really excited for our Prom Revisited theme,” said Chobanian. “It has such a wide appeal. Nearly everyone has a fond memory of their prom, where they were, what they were doing. It makes people happy.”
The Benefit Auction will include a contest for Prom King and Queen, said Chobanian.
Individual tickets for the Benefit Auction will cost $150. A reserved table for 10 will cost $1,500, a VIP table of 10 $2,500 and a Platinum table for 12 will cost $5,000.

The price of this is not fair to the community members. We use to pay $25 for an “auction book” to get in. We then spent money on many auction items. Spending $150 just to go thru the door I find a very high price and it immediately excludes a lot of the community who can not afford that entry fee.
