Students, parents and the general public are invited to attend a panel discussion on careers in advanced technology on Thursday, October 6 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons.
This event ushers in National Manufacturing Day and additional student activities planned on October 7th.
The panel discussion will be hosted by Jeremy Bout, producer and host of Edge Factor and an advocate for amazing careers in advanced technology, with representatives from Advanced Bionics, Aerospace Dynamics Inc., B&B Manufacturing, Stratasys Direct Manufacturing and Technifex discussing career pathway opportunities including engineering, design, robotics, production and distribution. The William S. Hart Union High School District, College of the Canyons, City of Santa Clarita, SCV Economic Development Corporation, and California Manufacturing Technology Consulting are presenting the event. During the day following this public speaker panel, students currently in the Hart School District’s Advanced Technologies Pathway and robotics will attend a presentation by Jeremy Bout, and visit one of a dozen volunteering manufacturing partners: Advanced Bionics, Aerospace Dynamics Inc., B&B Manufacturing, Boston Scientific, Crissair, Donaldson Filtration Solutions, National Technical Systems, RAH Industries, Remo Drums, SKM Industries, Stratasys Direct Manufacturing, and Technifex. Mfg Day will conclude with a tour of COC’s FabLab and MakerSpace.
