The Hart Indians defeated Valencia Friday night 28-21 to win the CIF Southern Section Northern Division football championship.
The Indians overcame six turnovers to win the game before a capacity crowd at Dr. Paul Priesz Stadium at Valencia High School.
Connor Wingenroth ran for 179 yards and a scored his only touchdown of the game on a hook and ladder play.
Quarterback Brady White completed a pass to Chase White who lateraled back to Wingenroth to complete the 24-yard touchdown play.
Brady White completed 23-of-37 passes for 315 yards and three touchdowns, but was intercepted four times.
White also lost a fumble, as did Wingenroth.
The score was tied 21-21 after Valencia Cole Murphy kicked a 36-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.
But Hart answered with a 53 yard touchdown pass from White to Wes Fitzpatrick to give the Indians the lead.
The Vikings would drive in the closing minute of the game down to the Hart eight, but Jake Wallace’s pass into the end zone was intercepted by Wingenroth to seal the victory for the Indians.
Wallace finished 14-of-25 for 171 yards and two interceptions.
Valencia running back Stone Jackson had 163 yards rushing on 25 carries and two touchdowns.
Hart’s Chase White caught nine passes for 124 yards and a score.
