Jamie Ford
[KHTS] – New York Times bestselling author Jamie Ford will be at the Old Town Newhall Library on Friday, March 28, to talk about his work and newest novel, “Songs of Willow Frost.”
The Northern California native is best known for his novel “Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet,” which tells a story of friendship between a Chinese boy and Japanese girl during the Japanese internment in America during World War II.
Ford himself is of Chinese and European descent.
“Hotel” has been recognized by the Barnes & Noble Book Club, Pennie’s Pick at Costco, the Target Bookmarked Club and as a National Bestseller. It was also named the #1 Book Club Pick for Fall 2009/Winter 2010 by the American Booksellers Association.
Ford will be available for a meet and greet at 6 p.m. on March 28, before the public reception and book signing at 7 p.m. There will be beer, wine, a dessert bar and reserved seating.
Tickets are $15 each for Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library members and $25 each for non-members.
All proceeds will benefit Friends of the Library.
In addition two his two novels, Ford is also currently planning a young adult series.
His short story “This Unkempt World is Falling to Pieces” will be featured in the upcoming first volume of “The Apocalypse Triptych.”
This volume, “The End is Nigh” is being released today, March 1.
