The Master’s College womens volleyball team, ranked No. 6 in the country,  lost their first match of pool play in the NAIA National Championship tournament Monday in Sioux City, Iowa.

The Mustangs (26-6) lost to No. 20 Cal State-San Marcos in three games (22-25, 20-25, 22-25).  The Masters had defeated the Cougars twice this season.

Aubrey Bekendam and Victoria Callihan each had nine kills to lead The Mustangs.  Callihan also had four of the team’s 12 blocks

Wednesday the Mustangs take on Viterbo University of La Crosse, Wisconsin.  The V-Hawks were 32-7 during the regular season and won their first pool play match 3-1 over Indiana Wesleyan Tuesday.
