Ready to hit the road and take your music across your region, country, or even overseas? To plan a tour, you’ll need to save some money, consider transportation, come up with a route, and book your venues. Once your tour is booked, don’t forget to promote it. Organizing a tour takes some work, but when you’re rocking out to full houses in city after city, you’ll be glad you took the time to plan it well. Our panel will provide you with sound advice about touring, since they have participated in and organized hundreds of tours.
Bill Bergman
Bill Bergman is a founding member of Jack Mack and the Heart Attack Horns. He has toured the nation and played with such greats as Bonnie Raitt, Kansas, Dan Fogerty, Glenn Frey, Neil Diamond, and many others. Jack Mack and the Heart Attack Horns have earned the handle “The Soul of the Blues” culminating from a well-travelled three decades of touring and live performances, seven critically acclaimed record releases, blockbuster movie soundtracks including the Police Academy, numerous television appearances on every late night show imaginable, as well as on CBS, NBC and ABC.
Anthony Red-Horse
Known as Tony Slash by his closest friends, this Native American artist hails from Los Angeles. Tony is the vocalist/guitarist for the Los Angeles based, power trio, The Rocketz. A band heavily influenced by Rockabilly music and a blend of early 1980’s hardcore punk rock.
The Rocketz formed in 2004 and played several hundred shows the first three years. It was a “play anywhere, anytime” mentality that helped hone their skills. The Rocketz starting touring the US full time in 2009 and have played Japan and Europe as well as some very prestigious events including Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekender, Ink N Iron Music Festival, Hootenanny, Musink and The Sunset Music Festival.
Katy Moffatt
Katy Moffatt is an internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter from Ft. Worth, Texas, now living in California. With 19 albums, appearances in 4 major motion pictures, and consistent live touring, her career has spanned 40 years, garnering numerous rave reviews (Rolling Stone, Mojo), nominations and awards (Academy of Country Music). In July 2015, Katy’s 1st Columbia album was referenced by Rolling Stone Magazine as one of “10 country albums we loved in the 1970’s that you never heard.”
