The William S. Hart Union High School District and Spirit Holding, developers of Castaic High School, will host a community kick-off event on Friday, Aug. 3, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. celebrating the one-year countdown to the grand opening of the new school, currently under construction.
Open to the public, the ceremony will take place at the site of the new high school in Castaic and include a short presentation.
Speakers will include Melanie Hagman, Castaic High’s Founding Principal, and Randy Wrage, Spirit Holding’s Project Manager for the development of Castaic High.
Hagman is “excited to work with Castaic students, parents, and community members to embark on the journey of opening a community-based school.”
“We’re making great progress on the construction of Castaic’s new high school,” Wrage said. “I’m delighted to share our progress with the community as we count down to the school’s grand opening in 2019.”
Food, drinks and several activities are planned for the event including a suggestion box open to anyone with an idea for Castaic High’s mascot and school colors.
Note to attendees: You must approach the event from Interstate 5. Once exiting the 5 freeway at either Parker Road or Lake Hughes Road, navigate to 28480 Sloan Canyon Road, Castaic 91384 and follow signs to the event parking.
