Very sad!!!
Tragic!
We need roads like this
Perfect. wish they had hear in Colorado too when the animals migrate.
I can see these bridges as trap areas for other animals.
Wildlife corridors!!
There is a wildlife corridor in Elsmere Canyon, which is very close to where it sounds like this mountain lion was hit.
Ricardo Beristain ?
Ugh … So sad ?
How sad
Oh dear xx
:(
Lug Nut Rule!
It was on the northbound 14 just after you get off the 5
That’s nowhere near Acton then. It’s about 15 miles south of Acton nearer to Canyon County.
Or Newhall
We had a miscommunication and listed it as having occurred at Sierra Highway in Acton, it actually occurred at the I-5 and SR-14 interchange near Sierra Highway. Our apologies and a correction has been issued.
All good.
I hate for these beautiful animals to die because of human encroachment of their habitat. :(
Maybe the person couldn’t get out of the way Nonie Weiser Pherson, I mean do you really think the person did it just to hit and kill the mountain lion and have damage to their car. Yes they are beautiful lions, but think for a minute your going a certain speed and a animal dodges in front of your car what would you do if you couldn’t stop or swerve from hitting another car or getting hit from another car from behind? What would you do? Yes that’s their area of living but sometimes you don’t have a choice, think of how that person feels about killing a animal, probably scared and upset.
Its heart breaking though
I think Nonie was talking about building in their habitat not about the person who hit it. :)

Last night as it was pouring rain i had coyotes looking into my back yard for ahelter from ontop of the wash . I was talking to it and the poor coyote looks absoutly sad . no where to go

This is awful news ?
Sad … But… it’s part of the circle of life. I have to wonder how many pets that cat killed before it met his maker. And even if they weren’t pets, they were animals just the same.
Uh they can’t buy their food at the supermarket so….
How very sad.
Heartbreaking!
Sad
What a coincidence, I was just talking to my mom about the “wildlife corridors” and the mountain lion that was recently struck in Castaic. It’s tragic, and I’m all for the corridors, but let’s remember that human life is more important than animal life. And I’m a total animal lover…I have 2 cats (indoors so they don’t get killed), two dogs, and a bunch of fish…so save the trolling and insults ??
It is tragic. Breaks my heart when I hear this.
This just makes me so sad ?
So sad.
Oh no :(
We are supposed to co exist but the state has done little to help the wildlife. Watering holes away from neighborhoods and corridors are sorely needed.
Samantha Duran Jesus
?
The corridors for the wildlife are neede
Build the damn corridors and forget the bullet train
I am with you Jenny.
? gosh darn it.
That’s a bad intersection for mountain lions.
Andrew Guzzard

Wow too close
Would have been nice to know EXACTLY where this happened. Maybe put up some signs for wildlife crossing? Or better yet, dig a tunnel or two under existing roadways in the area?
Breaks my heart everytime. They have the right to live here also.
Chris Avila
Sorry for the Animal, but thankful it didn’t cause a major accident. Scary situation having a mountain lion on the freeway!
Someone should put a sign there not to cross?
