Fort Tejon State Historic Park is looking for seasonal part-time employees to fill the roles of maintenance and visitor services park aides.

Maintenance park jobs are available for the following positions:

Grounds

Repair

Housekeeping

Outdoor Science

Recreation/Hospitality

These positions have a starting pay of $10.28 per hour.

Visitor services jobs are available for the following positions:

Environmental Living Program

History

Interpretation

Children’s Programs

Outdoor Science

Recreation/Hospitality

These positions have a starting pay of $10.43 per hour.

For the maintenance position, we are looking for people with a desire to use various hand tools and operate commercial power equipment, like weed eaters and chain saws.

Applicants must have the ability to clean restrooms; preform housekeeping; assist the maintenance worker in unskilled manual tasks; and follow directions, park rules and regulations.

Applicants must also be able to successfully greet and serve park visitors, possess a valid California Drivers License and clear a background check.

We are looking for people with willingness to work indoor and outdoors year-round and work on Saturdays, Sundays, holidays and at odd or irregular hours; interact with the public; and purchase and wear park uniform.

For the visitor services, we are looking for people with a desire to wok with children and school groups for our overnight student living history program. These applicants should be willing to wear period clothing; work outside; and complete period tasks like starting fires, cleaning dutch overs and hauling water.
