In celebration of California’s Water Awareness month, SCV Water will host its annual Open House event at Central Park in Saugus on Saturday, May 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This free event is for all SCV residents and provides information on water-saving tools and practices, as well as interactive activities for the kids.
The event will be held in Central Park as well as the SCV Water conservation garden and patio located above the park.
A new addition to the program this year is “Water Talks!” Come hear from SCV Water Board members and staff experts to find out how we insure we have enough clean water for the future, and get your questions answered.
Vendors will showcase products and services focused on water efficiency, landscape ideas and services, and environmental sustainability. Special programs will include Placerita Canyon Nature Center’s Ranger Frank and his Wild Friends, and “Waterology” – a children’s water conservation show.
The L.A. County Public Works Department’s Smart Gardening Workshop will teach residents how to compost. The class is from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and takes place in the middle of our conservation garden.
Listen to music from a local DJ on our patio, while enjoying free popcorn, frozen lemonade and face painting. While enjoying the beautiful view from our conservation garden, stop and get a free caricature drawing.
A free trolley will run between the park and the garden throughout the event.
Central Park is located at 27150 Bouquet Canyon Road, Saugus 91350.
