On Oct. 23, Kathy Rutherford, President of Soroptimist International of Valencia, presented a check worth $6,287 to Marlee Lauffer, President of the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Foundation and Sheila R. Veloz Mara Shay, RN, Sheila R. Veloz Breast Center manager.
The donation represents the “Fund-A-Need” amount raised by the group’s Sept. 7 “Bras for a Cause” event. Soroptimist International of Valencia raises money annually via this fundraiser to support the Sheila R. Veloz Breast Center.
“Supporting the Sheila R. Veloz Breast Center is very important to us,” said Kathy Rutherford, President, Soroptimist International of Valencia. “We are so proud to donate these funds from our ‘2019 Bras for a Cause – Fund A Need,’ and help underserved women in our community have access to screening and treatment for breast cancer.”
