High winds have prompted the National Weather Service to issue another Hazardous Weather Outlook for the next 48 hours.
A high wind warning is in effect until 3 p.m. Saturday, as strong north to northeast winds will continue to develop through passes and canyons and continue throughout the day. Wind speeds are expected to range from 25 to 40 mph, with gusts to 60 mph.
Wind may knock down trees and power lines and cause unsecured objects to be blown around. Items that could become airborne, such as patio furniture, should be brought indoors or secured.
Temperatures are expected to be in the low-to-mid 60s during the day Friday and Saturday, with winds gusting between 35 and 50 mph. Friday night, winds are supposed to pick up with gusts as high as 55 MPH and temperatures in the low 40s. Saturday’s weather is expected to be sunny and very windy.
With high winds forecast through Saturday, Southern California Edison is reminding customers that outages may occur and to never approach or touch downed power lines. Even if downed or dangling wires do not appear to be live, they should be avoided and 911 should be called immediately.
