Again this year, St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church is proud to sponsor the community-wide “Cropwalk” project.
This year’s theme is “Ending Hunger One Step at a Time.” Cropwalk is an international effort both to raise awareness of the scourge of hunger and solicit donations to help alleviate it.
25 percent of donations collected will go to local Santa Clarita Valley anti-hunger efforts and the remainder to areas around the world where hunger is a daily menace to millions of people.
Local organizations which will benefit from Cropwalk include Family Promise, Church of Hope Food Pantry, Bridge to Home Homeless Shelter and the Fish Program.
Help can be provided to these organizations in several ways: by bringing non-perishable food items to St. Stephen’s on Cropwalk Day (Oct. 27th), by walking the short 2.2 mile Cropwalk course to raise awareness of the hunger problem, or by making a financial donation to support these efforts. The Walk begins at 2:00 p.m. on Oct. 27th.
Donations may also be made on-line by visiting www.cropwalkonline.org. Interested parties can also sign us as a participant in Cropwalk on the website.
