The Bill Hart District Boy Scouts of America will hold its 10th annual Leaders of Character Recognition Dinner on Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. at Hyatt Regency Hotel in Valencia.

The event recognizes people in the Santa Clarita Valley who have made an impact on local youth or the community as a whole, said BSA leader Ransom Boynton.

U.S. Rep. Steve Knight and his wife Lilly Knight will be honored at the dinner, as well as Jersey Mike’s franchise owner Steve Youlios and his wife Laura Youlios.

“This is a great opportunity to have these leaders in the room and hear their stories and how they’ve developed,” said Boynton.

Steve Knight represents California’s 25th Congressional District, which includes communities in the Antelope, Santa Clarita and Simi valleys.

Youlios owns Jersey Mike’s stores in Canyon Country, Stevenson Ranch and Valencia.

Past honorees include Scott and Vanessa Wilk, Arif and Pam Halaby and Mike and Mary Delorenzo.
