Sarah Alarid

Sarah Alarid

Five days after Search and Rescue recovered Sarah Alarid’s body from Angeles National Forest near Sand Canyon Road, the coroner has determined the cause of death to be accidental multiple blunt force injuries.

Sarah’s disappearance on New Year’s Day sparked a community-wide search that culminated Wednesday, Jan. 9, when her car and body were identified.

The Santa Clarita Valley, which came together to look for Sarah, continues to gather around and support the Alarid family.

Chili’s on the Old Road in Stevenson Ranch is hosting a fundraiser Monday, Jan. 14, from 11 a.m. to closing. Fifteen percent of all checks, take-out or dine-in, will be donated to the Alarid family.

The family is also planning a public memorial for Sarah this week, though exact time and location are yet to be determined. Check back for further details as they are available.

Several Facebook pages have been created in remembrance of Sarah, where friends, family and community members can share thoughts and memories:

* Where’s Sarah Alarid

* FIND Sarah Alarid

* In Loving Memory of Sarah Alarid (memorial group)

If you are interested in donating to the family, visit WheresSarahAlarid.com.

Cards and letters can be mailed to this address:

Do not send large, tangible or perishable items. This is a mail only location. The Alarid family is not present at this address.
