Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit
Good afternoon Saugus. There were only two reported Part-1 crimes this week. Both of the crimes occurred more than one week ago. The first reported crime was a theft from a boat at a storage yard sometime between 01/01/13 through 02/25/13. The storage yard is located in the 25600 block of Springbrook Avenue. The victim had the stereo stolen from his boat, however, other high dollar water skiing equipment was not touched.
There was a petty theft from a residence in the 27600 block of Susan Beth Way between Saturday, 03/23/13 and Friday, 03/29/13. The victim had a house guest who stole numerous items from his residence. Detectives are working this case.
There were numerous great arrests over the past week. In one incident, a deputy made a traffic stop of a vehicle for numerous traffic violations. After contacting the driver he smelled the odor of marijuana from inside the vehicle. After searching the driver he found marijuana and other narcotics in his possession. The driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and driver in possession of marijuana.
