Sacramento – The California Transportation Commission spent a full day on Friday, working with stakeholders and the public to set the stage for successful investment of the Road Repair & Accountability Act (SB 1) revenues to improve statewide mobility.

The CTC will take charge of programs ranging from road repair and traffic congestion relief to encouraging active transportation modes like walking and biking.

Commissioner Guardino attended the workshops, stating: “The Commission’s open and transparent process will ensure that Californians benefit from the improvements these new revenues can bring as quickly as possible.”

Through a series of five workshop sessions, the Commission and staff presented early plans and received input from local governments and stakeholder groups, both public and private. An implementation schedule was adopted by the Commission in May, and is available to the public on the Commission’s SB 1 webpage.

“The Commission is moving quickly and carefully to make sure that there’s not a moment lost in putting the public’s investment to good use,” Commission Executive Director Susan Branson said.
